Calor Gas

When beloved British brand Calor Gas opened new premises in Preston, it turned to BDH Tullford. Having already worked together at Calor Gas sites up and down the country, BDH Tullford was the ideal choice for designing, manufacturing and installing signs both inside and outside the building. 

The Challenge

Calor Gas needed new signage and displays for its new complex in Preston. Not only were they looking to reinforce their brand identity, but keep both customers and colleagues safe while on site.

A wide range of different products was needed, from directional signs to welcome notices and safety advice – and they wanted one company to manage the entire project.

The Solution

As with previous Calor Gas projects, we conducted an initial survey of the site to identify where signs were needed.

From there, we sent over a comprehensive proposal, including prices, so Calor Gas could decide how to proceed.

We advised on the most suitable materials for the displays – especially those outside – so the signs always look professional and smart.

Our creative team also provided input on designs, suggesting ways to achieve maximum impact throughout the site, ensuring signs are bold and legible, in-line with Calor Gas’s artwork guidelines.

The final project included:

• Window stickers
• Building signs
• Custom welcome desk wrap
• Directional and road signs
• Car park signs
• Mirror signs, showing correct PPE for handling gas products.

Although the installation phase was initially affected by the beginning of the coronavirus lockdown, we worked with Calor Gas to put the signs in place while maintaining social distancing measures.

The Results

The signs have been installed and look fantastic in situ, setting off the new facilities to a tee. They reinforce the Calor Gas brand while remaining friendly and approachable.
